Iris 1956 is a modern jewelry brand founded in 2017 by designer and metalsmith Candias who is a native of New Orleans, La.

Inspired by her African heritage and New Orleans culture our pieces are created to be modern cultural heirloom pieces an advocate for self-love we tell a story of perseverance and to remember who you are and where you come.

The brand name Iris 1956  is her mother’s middle name and year of birth. A single mother of 4 daughters who struggled but rose to success with strong faith and unconditional self-love.

Forged through the craft of metalsmithing and lost wax casting, each piece tells a story with its wearer in mind.
