It’s that time of year when it’s so cold outside. If you live in the northeast then you know what I’m talking about. As soon as you walk outside, the cold hits you like a ton of brick and your skin feels so dry like it’s going to crack right off your face.
But with all of that being said. This is the time when you have to nourish your skin. “Butter it up baby”! These are a few of my favorite products:
Luna is one of the best sleeping oils I’ve used. Even if you have oily skin, your skin looks smoother and tighter. One thing to note. If you have oily skin, oil is the answer. But that is for a later post. Now there are a few cons to Luna. The pigment is a dark blue, but once you pat it into your skin it disappears. Only use a few drops or you will have a blue tent on your pillowcases. Also the scent… it’s not the best smelling, yet tolerable. It’s indescribable (plants), but I chop it up to being the working ingredients and I’m used to it now.
Clinque -Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion – $32.50
For my acne-prone ladies who can’t use any thick facial creams. This is the ticket! It not only helps to prevent acne, but it feels and goes on like a serum, not drying out the skin. A must-have!
Nivea Essentially Enriched Body Lotion – $5.57
The skin on your body is just as important as your face. Keep it well moisturized with Nivea. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get similar results. This smells fresh and clean and keeps my skin looking healthy and plump throughout the day with no need to reapply.
Taking it back to the basics. Johnson and Johnson’s baby oil has always been a staple to add a little “something something” to your skin. If you not only want that extra moisture but a little shine. Just add a little bit of baby oil to your skin. But who likes the mess, when oil comes out of the bottle like it has a mind of its own. So I suggest the oil gel. Same effect, with less the mess.
Now there are a few other items that I have in my regimen, but these are just a few that I simply can’t live without. What are some of yours?
Great tips! I live in Alaska and it’s so cold and dry here right now.
