Change Our Future is a nonprofit organization promoting the advancement of underrepresented communities through education, empowerment, advocacy, and awareness.
Former Philadelphia Eagle Safety and Superbowl Champion Rodney McLeod and his wife Erika McLeod founded Change Our Future in 2020 to tackle the challenges that our youth face. Serving the community in Philadelphia, Camden NJ, Trenton NJ, and Prince George’s County MD, with a combination of programs like Next Man Up which focuses on uplifting young men of color.
Next Man Up teaches adolescent boys how to become exceptional men through mentorship, interactive educational workshops, and more.
Other programs include Youth Football Camp holding its 9th annual event on Saturday, June 17, in Hyattsville, MD, at the Dematha Catholic High School. Young football enthusiasts will enjoy the day to play in a safe atmosphere, gain professional insight, hear from special guests and coaches, receive giveaways, and more. Register today. The I Am Youth Leadership Summit prepares our future leaders with the necessary tools to navigate through adulthood. Teens will participate in career development, resume review, workshops, group discussions, and valuable information for decision-making. Participation is free, with registration currently open for May 20 at Enon Tabernacle Church from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
The pièce de ré·sis·tance that we’re excited to share is the 3rd annual Sneaker Ball on June 22, 2023 at Vie by Cescaphe located at 600 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19130.
Pair your coolest kicks with a sophisticated outfit to this black-tie gala supporting local Philadelphia students. Guests are asked to bring new and gently used sneakers or school supplies (items purchased at Staples located at 1300 S Christopher Columbus Blvd. Philadelphia, PA 19147, support Change Our Future’s cause). Monetary contributions and donations are always welcome to show your continued support.
Enjoy live entertainment, food, cocktails, and camaraderie. There will be a 2023 Game Changer Awards ceremony and access to a specially curated sneaker museum and luxury sneaker vendors. General and VIP tickets are available to attend Philadelphia’s most anticipated fundraiser of the year!
