Welcome to URBN SOCIAL, a new media platform providing people of color in need of online marketing, advertising, promotional services, news, and a global business directory specifically for black, brown, and indigenous businesses.

(Philadelphia, PA)-City Athletics Community Partners (CACP) will host the largest free Juneteenth Community Block Party in the Nicetown/Tioga Community.  The event will honor the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in the United States on the oldest African American holiday. The entire family is welcome to attend the free event on Saturday, June 17th, from 1 pm-5 pm at City Athletics located at 1901 W Tioga Street.

The day will begin with a block clean-up followed by a free catered meal with a live DJ. It will include a barbeque, drinks, water ice, and funnel cake at no cost.   There will be free pony rides, a bouncy house, face painting, axe throwing, giveaways, performances, and so much more. There will be over 20 small local businesses that will be selling goods and services.

This free event is a thank you to the Nicetown-Tioga Community. There will be free water ice, funnel cake, BBQ, and entertainment.  Everyone should plan to come early and stay late to enjoy the festivities,” said Curt DeVeaux, City Athletics Owner & Founder. “I want to thank every sponsor for making this possible, as well as the community for accepting the Center as their own in their neighborhood.”

This is the third year that CACP hosted a Juneteenth celebration.  The center was the dream child of Curt DeVeaux, who has been serving the children of Philadelphia for well over a decade. He converted the shuttered church into a community center that has been serving hundreds of children since its inception. His passion comes from being a father and his desire to provide a safe place for all children.
