Message from the Founder

Yo! For many years, I contemplated starting a streetwear business that had a give back component. But whenever I would start to work on it, a little voice in my head kept saying that I couldn’t do it because I didn’t have formal training in fashion.

One day, I shared this with a good friend. She quickly stopped me on my spiral and told me  to just do it! She told me to take small steps and eventually, I would have the brand that I dreamt of having. I took her advice and did just that! I put in WORK. I took classes, chatted with friends in the fashion industry, learned about designing and more.

Now I have my socially-conscious streetwear brand, BKLYN LEAGUE! Since launching, we have been featured in Black Enterprise, partnered with J. Crew Mens, and seen in a few shows like Netflix’s Master of None and more. We are also currently working with a Brooklyn-based language immersion non-profit called Teens of Color Abroad to help them bring awareness and raise money to change the disproportionate amount of black and brown students who don’t have access to life-changing high school study abroad trips. They deserve the world, too. But there is STILL more work to be done!
