Annual Food and Turkey Giveaway Hosted in Atlanta and Three Additional Cities Simultaneously

Two regional nonprofits have partnered for an annual food and turkey giveaway. Feed My People Corp, Inc and Project GOO, Inc will distribute hundreds of meals to families in Lilburn and the surrounding area. The generous effort will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Berkmar High School (405 Pleasant Hill Road, Lilburn, GA). Beginning at 8am, the event will last until supplies are depleted.

“You never know what people are experiencing in their day-to-day life. We are meeting a real need and taking some of the pressure off of families early in this holiday season,” says Tommy Phifer, founder of Feed My People, Inc.

According to the USDA, rates of food insecurity are substantially higher than the national average for single-parent households, and for Black and Hispanic households. The US Census reports Lilburn’s demographics as 40% Hispanic and 14.7% Black.

Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina experience food insecurity near the US average (10.7%). Project GOO, Inc has partnered with Feed My People Corp to address this need in Georgia. Other cities hosting giveaways simultaneously include Homestead, Orlando, and Tallahassee in Florida. “Our mission is giving opportunities to others,” states Hinton “Goo” Battle.  “Many times the most impactful opportunities are about meeting basic needs.”

Feed My People Corp, Inc and Project Goo, Inc are (501)(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The annual food and turkey giveaway is a part of their ongoing food distribution calendar. Small and large events are hosted throughout Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties by Feed My People Corp, Inc. For more information visit www.FeedMyPeopleCorp.org and www.ProjectGoo.com.
