JAY Z & THE NFL

Let’s get the conversation started! This comes at the heels of the interview with Jay Z in regards to his partnership with the NFL.

Being a woman who grew up in Pittsburgh, I’ve always been a Steelers fan. I love watching football especially when it comes to my team. But being someone who is strongly opinionated, I did and continue to partake in boycotting the NFL. Sadly that includes my team. Nothing to do with kneeling, because I respect our veterans and they deserve respect for the sacrifices that they have and continue to make for the safety of our country. It’s about equality and bringing to light the injustice regarding police brutality and social injustice. Colin Kaepernick chose to bend the knee as a way to protest. To each their own.

With that being said, we remember Jay Z asking some of the biggest musicians not to perform at the Superbowl Halftime Show this year and they gladly obliged. Fast forward to just a week ago when it was announced there is a new entertainment and social-awareness partnership with the NFL and Roc nation. “The deal with Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment and sports company, will entail Roc Nation and Jay-Z consulting on entertainment, including the Super Bowl halftime show, and contributing to the league’s activism campaign. PAUSE!
