NO HALF STEPPIN
“Chivalry”Â
Gallantry, gentlemanliness, courtesy, courteousness, politeness, graciousness, mannerliness, good manners “acts of chivalry”.
This isn’t to bash men, but what is going on! What happened to men opening up the door, walking on the outside of the sidewalk, talking instead of texting, picking up the check and courting a woman? I mean is chivalry dead? But you know who I blame for this, us women.
There is nothing wrong with being an independent woman, doing the dang thing in your career and life, but in my opinion, you have to let men be men. When we start emasculating men with the idea that we don’t need them, that’s when some (young and old) men don’t feel a need to go out of their way to impress a woman, or just flat-out treat a woman with dignity and respect unless raised in a household where its taught.
Check out this crazy video from Know The Ledge Show on Youtube:
This stems from a day of observing. Me walking up to a door and letting it swing in my face instead of holding it. Then me standing on the train (because I sit in an office all day) while young men sit letting (elderly) women stand. What is the problem with doing something as small as letting someone who has lived a long life have a seat and rest? Shame
When we stop allowing men to do the small things, they neglect to teach our boys and the next generation. These small gestures make a difference in the lives of others and how women (and our daughters) will be treated in the future. There is nothing sexier to me than a man who takes charge while allowing us to also be a boss.
The reality is we are not equal. We all know that woman can do just as much as men (sometimes more) but we need each other. We need men’s power and strength and woman’s endurance and sensitivity to balance.
