In this second installment, Blue Note announced the 2023 Blue Note Jazz Festival lineup at the Silverado Resort in Napa, CA. Staring Artist In Residence, Robert Glasper, and hosted by the iconic comedian and artist Dave Chappelle.

This year’s festival spans three days from July 28-30, 2023, highlighting jazz’s influence on the hip-hop community. With the 50th anniversary of hip hop approaching, Blue Note curated a diverse lineup of heavy hitters in Jazz and hip hop with Mary J. Blige, Nas, Chance the Rapper, Lalah Hathaway, Gary Clark Jr., and many, many more. Making this festival one you don’t want to miss.

Like a blue note in music– which has a slightly different pitch– our festival has a unique tone by presenting big-name artists in small, intimate spaces,” said Steven Bensusan, president of Blue Note Entertainment Group. “You won’t find any other festival like this,” he added.

You can expect three stages surrounded by the beautiful greenery of the private Silverado Resort, which includes a spa, golf courses, pools, fine dining, and an abundance of vineyards. The atmosphere is regal and so are the numerous artist you’ll see, including Parliament Funkadelic featuring George Clinton, Ari Lennox, Big Freedia, Digable Planets, and Cordae.

With Robert Glasper at the helm, the festival represents an expansion of the experiential arm of the Blue Note Jazz Club, supporting artistic creativity and musical freedom,” said Alex Kurland, Director of Programming of Blue Note. “Jazz’s boundless influence, spontaneity and artistic flexibility serves as inspiration for the diverse range of musicians on the festival lineup,” Kurland added.

I want to make sure the guests and the performers have unique experiences,” said Robert Glasper. “The festival, like my Blue Note residency, is full of unexpected jams and surprises during one huge musical family reunion with artists and an audience that share a love of the arts,” he concluded.

Oh, but wait, there’s more! Let’s not forget the afterparties with a legendary lineup of DJs, including DJ Jazzy Jeff, 9th Wonder, J.Period, DJ Trauma, and the multifaceted DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak).

TICKETS range from $550 for general admission to $1,499 for VIPs and $225 for official afterparty parties.
