National Stop the Violence Alliance, Inc., in conjunction with AmeriCorps, kicks off the National Day of Service with a film screening on January 16, 2023 with state and local organizations.

Camden, New Jersey (January 11, 2023) – National Stop the Violence Alliance, Inc., an international nonprofit organization, in conjunction with AmeriCorps., presents its 2023 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Commemorative Celebration.

WHAT:
MLK Day Celebration 2023: “Let Freedom Ring” featuring a screening of the film “Till”

Monday, January 16, 2023 Event begins at 11 am

During this event, free soul food will be provided to those in attendance. NJ Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin will provide a brief keynote reflecting on the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Additionally, Robin Scott King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will be addressing the audience. Members of the What About YOUth Initiative will be performing.

Sponsored by Texas Roadhouse, Schwab Foundation, Phillies Charities, the New Jersey State Troopers Non- Commissioned Officers Association, Mastery Charter Schools, and the Law Offices of David Karbasian. The film “Till” centers around the murder of Emmett Till and his mother Mamie Till’s fight for justice.

The event is free to all in attendance. Free food will be provided.
