Create and Blossom Literary Studios, a Waco-based woman-owned small business supports literacy development in adults and children through creative writing and book publishing and by touring local schools in the community
Low literacy skills are a rising concern in our country. According to research conducted by Statista Research Department, one out of five American adults, or 21%, possess low literacy skills, comprising about 43 million people. One Waco author and book publisher, Kennisha Griffin, has joined the fight to promote literacy and creative writing with her new company, Create and Blossom Literary Studios.
“It’s true that reading is fundamental. Pairing reading with creative writing can help us strengthen our skills, create an amazing book, and start new businesses,” says Griffin. “There are so many benefits to writing a book. I’m delighted to advocate for literacy in our community.”
Create and Blossom was founded by Kennisha Griffin, a published author of eight books with a passion for helping authors get published and thrive. Kennisha has helped hundreds of authors publish books and launch their careers. She has served in the publishing community since 2007. Griffin has gained a favorable and respected reputation among her peers, with new authors, local businesses, and schools. Her most recent school appearance was at Park Hill Elementary School in Hewitt, Texas.
“Kennisha is an amazing writer, author, and writing coach. I worked with her while writing my memoir and she was instrumental in helping to get my words on paper and ultimately publishing my memoir,” says Author Tiffany Dionne Kelly.
“Kennisha has shared her love, spirit, passion, and wisdom with a room full of foster teens and managed to keep their attention as she spoke from the heart. I cannot wait to get her to come and share her love and experiences again,” says Terrie Eley, YMCA Youth Development Director.
I really enjoyed working with Kennisha. A few years ago one of my students interviewed her on camera to learn about her profession and how she got started. She was and still is the ultimate professional. She was very kind, warm, and pleasant. She even volunteered to travel a VERY LONG distance to make this vision a reality. She represents excellence,” says Tiffany Polite Henderson, owner of My Passion Breathes Life
Kennisha Griffin is available to discuss partnerships in an effort to support literacy development and to work with residents who are interested in writing and book publishing. Please inquire at hello@createandblossomstudios.com. Visit Create and Blossom online at www.createandblossomstudios.com.
