Atatiana Jefferson

On Saturday October 12th a neighbor noticed the front door of her house was ajar around 2am. Being concerned, called the Fort Worth police department’s non-emergency line to request a wellness check. Thereafter body cam video shows Dean in Jefferson’s back yard with his service weapon drawn …again, while answering a “wellness check”! He turns toward the window telling Jefferson to put her hands up and immediately shoots under a minute, killing her.

“This man murdered someone. He should be arrested,” Darius Carr, Jefferson’s brother, told reporters.

We haven’t even had the chance to digest the murder of Botham Jean and conviction of Amber Guyger two weeks ago. When will the senseless killings end? Let’s keep Atatiana Jefferson’s family in our prayer. If you can’t feel safe inside your own home, where can you feel safe?
