The hip-hip community is shaken by the sudden passing of Atlanta, Georgia native Kirshnik Khari Ball, commonly known as Takeoff of the trio rap group Migos. On November 1st, at approximately 2:30 am, the Houston Police Department reported that Takeoff was fatally shot during an altercation at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston, where a private party was taking place. Video from TMZ showed Takeoff standing to the side, not involved in what was going on when you can hear a heated argument boiling, a fight breaking out, then gunshots. Takeoff was shot and reported dead at the scene.
Two other victims were injured but non-life-threatening. During today’s press conference Police Chief Tory Finner and Mayor Sylvester Turner urged the community to let them solve this case for the family and if anyone knows anything to come forward.
All throughout the day, there has been nothing but genuine praise for Takeoff and his pleasant, peaceful, no-nonsense demeanor. The one in the group who kept to himself. No one deserves to lose their life like that!
He will certainly be missed, and our prayers go out to his family, especially his mother.
