“Soar Beyond The Expected” with Martell x Janelle Monáe

Martell Cognac is the oldest of the great cognac houses. Artist, Actress, Activist, and the Afrofuturistic Janelle Monáe has partnered with Martell in the “Soar Beyond The Expected” campaign. With the expertise of Cognac “GOAT” Ms. Franky Marshall and a “Visual Virtuoso,” Film Director Ewurakua Dawson-Amoah with Audacious Film and “Cocktail of the Future” a Celebration of Black Creative Expression.

Black culture embodies creativity and self-expression. Influenced by the past while transforming the future. Who better to deliver this message than Janelle Monáe!

Ewurakua Dawson-Amoah shares imagery that’s poetic! Captivating in sound with vibrant colors taking place in elegant to urban scenes. She captures the essence of individualism, with BIOPIC (Black/Indigenous People of Color) taking up space in the most unconventional ways.

“Throughout history, whether it’s been on the stage or behind the bar, Black creatives have laid the groundwork for culture, and this collaboration is a testament to that legacy,” said Janelle Monáe. “Afrofuturism is a principle that is redefining culture as we know it, awakening us to the world’s everchanging possibilities. Now, we have a new cocktail we can enjoy as we celebrate our work and create our future.“

Limited-edition “Cocktail of the Future” is kit pays homage to our unsung hospitality heroes and those who pioneered many popular cocktails enjoyed today, available in limited quantities through March 31, 2022.

*Cocktail of The Future Recipe

• 2 oz Blue Swift
• 0.75 oz Crème de Mûre (Massenez)
• 0.25 oz Pimento Dram (Hamilton)
• 0.75 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
• 0.25 oz Balsamic Vinegar of Modena

Instructions

• 1 Add all ingredients to mixing tin Shake well with ice
• 2 Strain into double rocks glass over ice ball Garnish: Fresh blackberries, grated lime zest
