Have you caught yourself saying, “This generation is out of control?” Then Variety reports that Hulu is dropping the documentary “Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told,” hinted to premiere Spring of 2024.
Now every Black person in their ’40s and ’50s is nervous that their prior indiscretions will be exposed!
Freaknik, the infamous Spring Break festival from 1983 to 1999 in Atlanta, Ga, was initially attended by HBCU students to enjoy concerts, dance contests, basketball tournaments, parties, and a fun-filled weekend in April. That doesn’t sound so bad right? Well, attendance grew year after year, with college students and the general public, which became unmanageable and downright dangerous.
Images of women dancing half naked in the streets on top of cars, men with cell phones and large camcorders recording, hoards of people surrounding vehicles, and let’s not talk about the sexual expletives. I mean, it’s called “Freaknik,” so what did people expect? It’s not something that anyone wants to revisit and certainly not relive.
But will we be tuning in? Oh yes! We’re interested in how this will be pieced together and the reactions afterward. Someone even caught Kanye West doing a little videography.”Lord have mercy,” who else will be caught slipping? People are so focused on women being exposed. Let’s not ignore your brothers, uncles, and even daddies who were ravenous in sexual nature caught on camera.
Freaknik was known for exploiting the hyper-sexual tendencies in everyone, even as far as women being sexually assaulted. some of you may be caught on camera in an unflattering manner. You live, you learn!
Let this be a lesson, don’t do things in public that can come back to haunt you!
Until then!
