May is mental health awareness month, and your mental health matters! Many people suffer in silence, and The Lapido Group in Philadelphia is here for you. Phsycom.net shared a great article in 2022 about the barriers that Black people endure when it comes to their mental health:

  • Cost
  • Shame
  • Cultural Stigma
  • Lack in Diversity
  • Competency among clinicians and physicians
  • Distrust
  • Past Experiences

“Black people are far less likely to seek care. Statistics tell us that about 25% of African Americans seek mental health treatment, compared to 40% of white Americans.” – McLean Hospital

The Lapido Group believes in delivering excellence through individual, couples, and group therapy to meet your needs where you are. Therapy is a tool to help you navigate through life and do the homework to apply what you learn to everyday scenarios.

Everyone goes through rough patches and you may not have someone to talk to who truly understands how you can handle your emotions or offer advice. How to deal with trauma past and present. Someone who can give an unbiased opinion without filling judged or perspective on the decisions you make and choices on how you can make better decisions in the future. These are some benefits of having a therapist! Why not try the Lapido Group and put yourself and your well-being first?

The Lapido Group currently has a 9-month relationship series for couples virtually by Certified Relationship Coach, Lucress Irizarry. The latest, “Let’s Talk About Our Love,” will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 via zoom 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Couples will learn the following:

  • How to stay intimate with each other.
  • How to manage your finances together.
  • How to navigate through obstacles in your relationship.

If you’re seeking love, you’ll learn:

  • What a healthy relationship looks like.
  • How to attract the relationship you desire.
  • How to maintain connections in your relationships.

Group Participants

Couples and individuals 21 and over are invited to learn and explore topics and themes that impact their relationships and receive insight into improving communication, intimacy, and other topics.

Healthy Conflict in Relationships

Healthy Conflict in Relationships is the fourth workshop in the LTAOL series. The goal of this workshop is to help participants understand how they can use conflict to their advantage by making turning it into Healthy Conflict. Healthy Conflict is about changing mindsets for the purpose of growth and development in the relationships to prevent disagreements from turning into arguments. Healthy Conflict provides an opportunity to flip the script on yelling, shutting down, walking away, and slamming doors. Instead, Healthy Conflict reveals a way to comprehend, connect and correct for a deeper, fulfilling, and loving relationship.

Group Discussion Guidelines
