NIGHT AT THE OSCARS: WILL SMITH VS CHRIS ROCK

The Oscars wouldn’t be as exciting if there weren’t an “incident.” Chris Rock began to make jokes about Jada Smith, and both Will and Jada initially laughed it off. But when Chris Rock made the joke, “Can’t wait to see GI Joe Jane 2,” that set things into motion. Will walked on stage, punched Chris Rock on live television, and responded by yelling, ” Keep my wife’s name out your f*cking mouth.”

Jada Smith has been very vocal about struggling with alopecia, and by her facial expression, she didn’t feel that Chris’ joke was funny.

Tyler Perry and Denzel Washington pulled Will Smith to the side to calm him down and pull him together.

Some are saying it was a stunt. But the reaction was too authentic for us to believe otherwise. The constant picking on his family, the “entanglement,” etc., finally came to a head. This will forever be etched in the history of the Oscars. “Remember the night that Will Smith punched Chris Rock in the face on live TV.”

But on the bright side, Will Smith won an Oscar for King Richard and delivered a heartwarming acceptance speech, and we wouldn’t say an apology, but more or less his justification.

We don’t condone violence, but we understand him defending his family.

Hopefully, Will Smith and Chris Rock can work this out.
