“QUEEN OF ROCK N’ ROLL”
Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock, is a legend in her own right and sadly passed away at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, near Zurich, on Wednesday, May 24th, at 83.
Her raspy voice captivated many of us with hits like “Proud Mary,” “Private Dancer,” “The Best,” and the memorable “What’s Love Got to Do With It.” She shared her story with us in the biopic “What’s Love Got to Do With It” film starring the sensational Actress Angela Bassett, who reminisced on Turner, saying she used her “pain and trauma, as a means to help change the world.”
Tina was a warrior in public, showing us that you can overcome abuse and still come out on top, humbled, and happy despite of. In private, Turner battled cancer, kidney disease, suffered a stroke, and succumbed to her illnesses, but she didn’t let her illnesses define or steal her joy.
There has been an outpour of love and accolades for her contribution to music and a glimpse into her life being a devoted Buddhist. With so much to unpack with Mrs. Turner, there isn’t enough time to share the decades of accomplishments she has achieved being the “Queen of Rock n Roll.” Well done and well deserved. Thank you for teaching us how to be free, center ourselves, and dance like you no one is watching.
