Welcome to URBN SOCIAL, a new media platform providing people of color in need of online marketing, advertising, promotional services, news, and a global business directory specifically for black, brown, and indigenous businesses.

A nonprofit platform celebrating diversity and increasing representation through fashion chosen as ReVision Gives Back Honoree for making a positive impact on the community.

Passport 2 Fashion, a trailblazing non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating diversity and empowering individuals through the transformative power of fashion, has been recognized as the August honoree for the ReVision Gives Back program. This acknowledgment highlights the exceptional work of Passport 2 Fashion in fostering inclusiveness, promoting belonging, and increasing representation through fashion, in the fashion industry and beyond.

Since its inception, Passport 2 Fashion has been on a mission to reshape the fashion narrative by highlighting a diverse range of body types, ethnicities, genders, and abilities. The non-profit firmly believes that fashion should be a vehicle for self-expression, allowing individuals to showcase their unique identities and inner beauty with confidence. By championing representation, fashion can become a powerful force in promoting mental wellness, encouraging individuals to embrace their uniqueness and celebrate their authentic selves.

Fashion is so much more than just the clothes we put on our bodies. Our vision at Passport 2 Fashion is to create a platform where designers and creatives can harness the power of creative storytelling through fashion,” said Aditi Bhatiya, the founder of the organization. “We aim to break barriers and shatter traditional notions of fashion and beauty, promoting the message that everyone deserves to feel fashionable and beautiful, regardless of their shape, size, age, skin color, gender identity, or ethnicity.”

With an unwavering commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion, Passport 2 Fashion has successfully organized five annual runway shows and virtual programming that encourages the celebration of individuality, and expression. Passport 2 Fashion is a part of the Fashion Week Columbus schedule of events and is a partnered program of the Columbus Fashion Council. This year’s Passport 2 Fashion Runway Show takes place on September 26 in Columbus, Ohio. Tickets are available for sale on the platform’s website.

To date, the organization has spotlighted 35 emerging designers from around the country, giving them a platform to showcase their talent and creativity. Over 220 models of diverse ethnicities, body types, and gender identities, have participated on their runways. The positive impact of Passport 2 Fashion’s efforts is further evident in the opportunities they have provided to 175 creatives and volunteers to make an impact at their events. Collaboration has been the key to their success, with 45 partner organizations actively supporting their mission.

The partnership with ReVision Gives Back amplifies Passport 2 Fashion’s efforts to create a positive impact within the community. Each month, Revision selects a local non-profit organization that demonstrates outstanding work, and a portion of the proceeds is donated to the selected honoree. This collaboration not only provides essential financial support but also helps raise awareness about the honoree’s mission through shared stories and volunteer initiatives. After ten years of giving, ReVision has proudly honored more than 100 deserving local nonprofits and given over $140,000 in donations with hopes of bringing more visibility and funding to their missions.

ReVision Gives Back is proud to honor Passport 2 Fashion for the month of August 2023. Passport 2 Fashion embodies the beautiful characteristics of a grassroots nonprofit making a positive impact on lives in our community. It is exciting to introduce P2F to new audiences and highlight the ways they are eliminating barriers and creating a new, inclusive narrative in the fashion industry,” said Samantha Parrish, the Marketing Manager for Revision LASIK and Cataract Surgery.

We are deeply grateful to ReVision for this recognition and support,” said Bhatiya. Their generosity will enable us to continue working on our mission of creating an inclusive future of fashion where everyone feels seen, valued, and celebrated.”
