When three brothers, Collin, Ryan, and Austin Gill, sought to start a business to make extra money and give back to their community, drawing in eco-conscious consumers was top of mind. Frères Branchiaux, their lifestyle candle and fragrance company, helps savvy, eco-conscious consumers who want to beautify and enhance their environments with lush and unique fragrances that are luxurious, non-toxic, organic yet affordable.
Launched in 2017, the brothers now have products in over 100 national retail locations, including Macy’s, Target, Belk, Whole Foods, the National Museum of African American History, Lowe’s, and a host of boutiques, museums, art galleries, gifts shops, spas, hotels, and wineries. They have partnered with the Ritz-Carlton Key-Biscayne to create the chain’s first black-owned custom candle, Fresh Water, which launches on Friday, August 26th, from 12 noon to 4 pm EST at the Coastal Boutique, the retail store located inside of the hotel. The brothers will be on-site to meet and greet customers as well as complete press interviews.
The products are hand-made using organic ingredients and materials to appeal to consumers while also reducing the impact on the environment. With the company’s founders being passionate about servicing the community and youth entrepreneurship, the thought of entering a market where they were underrepresented made starting a candle company an appealing idea. Frères Branchiaux is a family-owned and operated business that donates 10% of its profits to homeless shelters within the Washington, D.C. community.
Frères Branchiaux candles and home fragrances help savvy, eco-conscious consumers who want to beautify and enhance their environments with lush and unique fragrances that are lush, non-toxic, and phthalate free. Our products are made in small batches, hand poured, hand packaged, and curated with care. The candles, room sprays, diffusers, bath salts, and home accessories are the brainchild of Collin, Ryan, and Austin Gill–3 brothers under the age of 18 who decided to create a business to earn their own money. As well as earning money, they donate 10% of their profits to area DC homeless shelters. Smell It, Light It, Love It!
