We are proud to introduce you to Zaahirah Bailey, a 13-year-old teen model and philanthropist from Philadelphia. She recently gained recognition for inspiring the new Disney X Creative Soul Tiana doll. She hopes to use her platform to inspire black girls everywhere to be confident, bold, modest and chic in everything they do.

Unfortunately, Zaahirah’s life changed drastically due to a tragedy in 2018. Her father was a victim of gun violence which took a toll on her emotionally. After seeking guidance through therapy and learning the necessary coping skills to manage the trauma, she decided to create a charity aimed at helping other girls facing similar struggles. This charity is called Hope•ish and provides resources and guidance to girls affected by grief or loss due to gun violence.

Hope•ish is an event that brings awareness not only to gun violence but also mental health issues that can arise from it. The ultimate goal of this charity is for those affected by gun violence to have hope and understanding despite their circumstances – something Zaahirah knows all too well.

Find more about Zaahirah on zaahirahb.com, and Instagram. Also, Know Your Girls Worth Inc., the mentorship program for young girls in Philadelphia offering self-development, community service, team building, and more to better advance their lives.

You can make a contribution to help Zaahirah reach her goal of giving girls a voice by donating to Hope•ish today.
